At Willow Creek Counseling MN, we believe every relationship has the potential for growth, healing, and deeper connection. Our couples therapy services are designed to help partners strengthen their bond, communicate more effectively, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Whether you’re navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, managing life transitions, or hoping to rekindle closeness, our experienced therapists provide guidance and support every step of the way. Together, we explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop new ways to connect with empathy and understanding.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based, relationship-focused models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. These proven frameworks help couples enhance emotional intimacy, increase respect, and cultivate lasting partnerships. We provide a safe, inclusive, and compassionate space where both partners feel heard and valued, empowering you to move forward with renewed connection and shared purpose.

child play therapy

Play Based Therapy

At Willow Creek Counseling MN, we understand that children often express their thoughts and emotions through play long before they can do so with words. Our play-based therapy services create a safe, supportive environment where children can explore feelings, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills through play and creative expression.

Our trained play therapists use evidence-based and developmentally appropriate approaches to help children navigate challenges such as anxiety, behavioral concerns, family transitions, grief, or trauma. Through techniques grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy, and other integrative methods, we meet each child where they are — helping them process emotions, strengthen problem-solving skills, and improve communication.

We believe that healing for children happens best in collaboration with their caregivers. Our therapists work closely with parents to provide insight, support, and practical tools that can be used at home to promote continued growth and connection.

At Willow Creek, play becomes more than just play — it’s a pathway to healing, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Clinical Supervision

At Willow Creek Counseling MN, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of future therapists. Our practice offers clinical supervision for individuals working toward licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Minnesota.

Supervision is provided by Tracy Davis, MA, LMFT, a Minnesota Board–Approved Marriage and Family Therapy Supervisor with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Tracy’s background includes extensive work with individuals, couples, and families in both private practice and intensive outpatient settings. Her areas of expertise include complex trauma, suicidality, self-harm, infertility, grief, and relational challenges.

Tracy’s supervision style is collaborative, supportive, and experiential—encouraging growth through both clinical skill development and self-of-the-therapist exploration. Drawing from systemic, emotionally focused, and attachment-based approaches, supervision sessions emphasize reflective practice, ethical care, and professional identity formation.

At Willow Creek, we strive to create a nurturing environment where emerging clinicians can build confidence, deepen clinical insight, and cultivate their unique therapeutic voice.
